Struggling to conceive? You might have hormonal imbalance

Natural Fertility MANY times, we underestimate the power of our hormones because they are silent and invisible but the truth is that they drive many of our body functions and in particular our reproductive health. See the picture below. From that picture you can see the role that hormones like oestrogen, progesterone, luteinising hormone play in preparing the ovary, eggs, the uterus for successful conception. This is not all, when any hormone is out of balance, it can make pregnancy incredibly difficult. Infact many fertility problems can be traced to this.
These problems include irregular periods, ovulation, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), fibroid, among others can be traced to some form of hormonal imbalance. And before you say that you know that your hormonal profile results from the lab is normal. Causes So what causes hormonal imbalance? Hormonal imbalance can be caused by several factors and they include stress, the use of hormonal products Unfortunately for us, in recent times, there are many things that can cause hormone imbalance. They range from the use of synthetic products, foods, lotions, cosmetics and even the use of artificial contraception. That’s right! Sometimes, we ourselves actually consume these hormones to suppress conception but the body is not quite happy on the long run.
Chemicals For example, many of the things we consume contain chemicals that mimic of the most important hormones in the body which is oestrogen. When we consume these chemicals, our body thinks that they are oestrogen and start to use them. The overload of oestrogen in our body gives rise to some problems like fibroids and even other diseases such as cancer. Stress is also a big factor in hormonal imbalance. To be honest, in this day and age, it is so easy to have some form of hormonal balance because the demands of living and working not only promote stress, they encourage poor eating habits. So what if you’ve had your hormonal profile test done and it comes back as normal? Can hormonal imbalance still be the reason you are not conceiving? .
